WHAT IS RAMP UP?
RAMP UP is a free STEM outreach event designed for K-5 students and hosted by UAH staff in a hands-on STEM Field Day format held at your elementary school. During the event, students rotate through engaging, age-appropriate STEM activity stations that explore topics such as atmospheric science, experimentation, trajectory, and more—all while discovering how exciting STEM can be!
RAMP UP is a free STEM outreach program based at The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH).
WHAT DO YOU GET?
Provided: All STEM Field Day event equipment, supporting lesson materials, in-person interactions with UAH personnel on the STEM Field Days, email support.
Topics Addressed: Changing variables, cause and effect, atmospheric science, trajectory, data analysis, predictions, & experimentation.
Grade Level: K-5
Project Length: Each kit takes about 30 min. to perform. The number of kits used and participating classes is organized by the school. Teachers can incorporate the science/math involved into lessons before and after using the kit.
