WHAT IS GEMINI?

GEMINI is a 13 week collaborative project where two schools—located in different regions of the United States and its territories—work together to plan and launch their very own High-Altitude Balloon (HAB). Each school conducts a launch from its local area, collecting atmospheric data through a StratoTrack sensor that will gather and relay real flight data back to the ground. The data from both school’s launches is later shared and compared in an effort to answer a Science Question chosen by the students. By analyzing the results from two distinct geographic locations, students gain valuable insights into regional atmospheric conditions. At the end of the project, local students will be invited to present their findings at a science fair-style poster session at The University of Alabama in Huntsville.

GEMINI is offered in both the Fall and Spring semester – each semester has their own competition at UAH.

GEMINI is a free STEM outreach program based at The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH).
