WHAT IS EXCITE?

EXCITE  is a 14-15 week project geared toward 9-10th grade students. This project provides the opportunity for students to design and 3D print a theoretical scientific 1U CubeSat (small satellite) to be accommodated on a P-POD in Lower Earth Orbit. Students will learn about space, the engineering design process, additive manufacturing, and communication skills.

EXCITE is a free STEM outreach program based at The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH).

The EXCITE student content is still available on Canvas from when it was supported by UAH, and the VEA course “Foundations of Engineering & Technology” was inspired by and contains similar content to EXCITE.
